Emily's friends (a partial list)

I would be remiss if I didn't list my sweetheart first. Unfortunately David doesn't seem to have a lot of stuff on his website, but he does have some photos of our cats!

Tox has been a friend for many years. I've worked with him, I hang out with him, play silly board games with him, and generally enjoy his compay.

Lee is a friend whom I met through David. He and I play in the Amber diceless roleplaying game that David is running- you can look at that campaign if you want to.

Kevin Fox is someone I met in the SCA, and whom I do Irish dancing with at the Starry Plough.

Another dance friend, whom I met for the first time at the Plough, is Frederik.

There's this silly thing going around called Friendster. Many of my friends use it, and though it's mostly rampant silliness, I have fun there.

Older friends

Everyone should look at the home page of my friend Cosma Shalizi. I guarantee that you'll find something of interest there.

sev is one friend (of many) I don't get to see often enough, especially since she moved away and never writes to me. Sulk, sulk.

My friend Sally, whom I've known since High School, has a Web page and didn't tell me about it. Pout. She smiles a lot and talks very fast and studied Math at the University of California at San Diego.

Eric Forste is somebody I met volunteering for the San Francisco Sex Information Hotline. I don't know him very well yet, but he seems to know a lot of my friends, and he has good taste in books.

One person who isn't actually a friend of mine, though I think of him with great affection and read his columns every day, is Jon Carroll, who writes for the San Francisco Chronicle.

Are you a friend of mine and not on this list? Do you want to be? Send me mail, and I'll try to get to it.
