Covetousness

Insert the wavy lines here... this happened many years ago. :)
For the first time this weekend I have seen a thing that I want to possess. I have coveted small (though not necessarily cheap) things like books before, but this is the first thing that is larger than a breadbox that I've wanted for itself.

Yesterday I passed by something called a "White Unicorn Sale", and I stopped, because there were harpsichords for sale.

I have always liked the sound of harpsichords, though I never had a chance to play one, even when I was taking piano lessons. It has been many years since I was able to sit down at a piano and play anthing more complicated than chopsticks all the way through to the end without forgetting anything or making some glaring error of note, so actually owning any instrument of that sort is really a very silly idea.

I moped for an hour or so despite my conviction that it was silly to do so, because I would like to be able to play the harpsichord, though I don't really have the time right now to re-learn everything I would need to, nor do I really have the money to spare to buy one and keep it in good shape.

Buying a harpsichord is now on the "someday" list, along with taking piano lessons again and touring the world. Someday.
